The A912 is a main road, starting near Perth, merging for a time with the A91, then continuing via Strathmiglo to Falkland (this section is sometimes referred to as the Strathmiglo Road.

Within Falkland it is known as New Road and then Pleasance. Pleasance ends at the crossroads with South Street and Newton Road, after which the A912 seems not to have a specific name: on the north side are Corner Liquorstane, the junction with The Riggs, the telephone exchange and sewage works; on the right are Liquorstane House, the junction with Liquorstane, and the Lomondview care home, and a little further on the road leading to Ladywell House and Chapelyard.

After leaving Falkand the road continues past Kilgourieknowe, Balreavie, Drums and Pittillock until it joins the A92 at the New Inn Roundabout.
