Sir Harry Wheeler

Sir Harry Anthony Wheeler (1919–2013) was a Scottish architect.

He was President of the Royal Scottish Academy 1983-90, and Chief Assistant to the Glenrothes Development Corporation. He set up in private practice as H Anthony Wheeler in Sailor's Wharf Kirkcaldy and in Edinburgh, the firm was later known as Wheeler & Sproson [Frank Sproson was made a partner in 1954] and was involved in the conversion of the Reading Room to an electricity sub-station.

He was active in the early restoration in the NTS' Little Houses Scheme, and won awards from the Saltire Society in the 1960s and 1970s. He designed St Columba's Parish Church in Glenrothes.

His obituary in The Scotsman said "he played a key role in the conversion of part of Falkland Palace into a private apartment for Major Crichton Stuart".

He also worked on "a group of new cottages in one of the Wynds" according to Sproson.
