East Loan is a road and open space to the south of Falkland, leading towards the the tracks and paths leading to Lomondside and Allan Park and on up the East Lomond Hill.

Much of the west side is now Back Dykes Terrace and the east side was formerly occupied by the St John's Works.

Additionally, Ashgrove Cottage, next door to Elmlea, has an address in Back Wynd but faces up East Loan.
